Gazprom plans to invest $51.08 billion in 2011, 俄罗斯天然气工业股份公司

Russian state gas giant OAO Gazprom plans to invest a total of 1.57 trillion rubles ($51.08 billion) this year, ranking it No. 1 in the global oil and gas industry in terms of investments, the company said in a euro bond prospectus.

Gazprom--the world's biggest natural gas producer--approved an investment program of RUB1.28 trillion in September. However, figures in the company's bond prospectus seen by Dow Jones Newswires show that investments at subsidiaries will total RUB464 billion this year, bringing the total to RUB1.57 trillion.

The total brings Gazprom's investment program ahead of Brazilian state-owned oil and gas producer Petroleo Brasileiro SA (PBR, PETR4.BR), or Petrobras, which pledged earlier this year to invest $225 billion over the coming five years.
