Rostekhnadzor expects to complete the verification of large oil refineries in Russia in September of this year, stated head of service, Nikolai Kutin.

He said that this month all the inspections will be summed up.
Speaking of the Ryazan Oil Refinery, which previously Rostekhnadzor refered to as conducting the modernization in the least effective manner among other oil refineries, Kutin said that the company is currently working on the elimination of violations and allocating money for an upgrade.

The Government has instructed Rostekhnadzor to check the Russian oil refineries after oil refining industry was faced with the problem of oil companies not modernizing plants and requirements of technical regulations in order to make a transition to production of a higher quality fuels.

In July, at a meeting with the government head of Rostekhnadzor said the audit has revealed irregularities in the conduct of refinery upgrade. In particular, he singled out the Ryazan Refinery. According to the RTN, almost all the equipment required renovation at the Ryazan oil refinery, and the factory is working with security breaches. Reported by Finmarket.
