Ministry of Energy of Russia launches high value-added petrochemical production , 能源部

Launch of high value-added petrochemical production was officially launched at Sibur-Khimprom (Perm) on November 9. Petr Degtyarev, Director of Oil and Gas Refining Department of the Ministry of Energy of Russia, participated in the ceremony.
Petr Degtyarev highlighted high strategic importance of developing petrochemistry in Russia. According to the Ministry of Energy of Russia, the amount of raw to be used for petrochemical production is to continue increasing while Russia's export capabilities will be limited. According to Degtyarev, the only raitonal solution is to further advance hydrocarbon refining.

Degtyarev also stressed that the launch of high value-added petrochemical production is a historical step in developing petrochemistry in Russia: "Launch of this new competitive product will reduce the import of polystyrol to Russia and advance local refining production, primarily for the needs of construction, decreasing energy losses in buildings and improving the efficiency of the Russian economy".
