Lipatov: closed nuclear fuel cycle (NFC) a priority for Russia's nuclear development, 俄罗斯下议院能源委员会

"Closed nuclear fuel cycle (NFC) is the current priority for Russia's innovative nuclear development. Closed NFC is important both for the ecology and for development of the energy system", as Yuri Lipatov, Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee for Energy, announced on October 6, 2010 at an expanded dedicated session of Duma's Energy Committee.
"A solution for Russia's sustainable energy development in the 21 century can be gradual unfolding of a brand new type of nuclear energy system that is characteristic for a closed fuel cycle and fuel independence, safe and environmentally friendly materials and technologies. This solution will drive Russia's nuclear energy leadership and global hi-tech competitiveness", commented Lipatov.
