Release Date: 2010-09-01

CPC Team has won the Best Team Spirit Award in the 2010 Kazakhstan BG Energy Challenge, a charity sports event held in Kazakhstan on August 27-29.
The event was joined by 30+ teams representing oil & energy companies working in Kazakhstan. Competing in this 5th annual event were employees of Agip KKO, BG Kazakhstan, Invensis, Kazmunaygaz, Karachaganak Petroleum Operating, ConocoPhillips, Lukoil Overseas, North Caspian Production Operation Company, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Total, Worley Parsons and Shell.

This was the first time the event was attended by a 5-strong CPC team.

It was two days of hard trials for the participants in picturesque National park "Kokshetau", including running for kilometers through the woods and the mountains, having cross-country mountain bike races, making an overnight stop in a tent in a forest clearing, finding their way using a compass and a GPS system in the woods at night, building hand-build boats and sailing in them, completing all kinds of agility and quick thinking tests.

It should be noted that almost all teams completed their tasks successfully. This year's team classification winner was Worley Parsons.

The BG Energy Challenge Project has been active in Kazakhstan since 2006. This year the participating teams collected a significant contribution to the Astana Disabled Children Society Foundation. This is a Kazakhstani non-government organization for handicapped children established back in 1998. The charity's mission is to assist disabled children and their families in social adaptation.
