The Energy Forum “Russian Energy and Fuel Complex in the XXI century” - one of the most significant social events in the Russian energy sector - is now an even more high-profile event: the Moscow International Energy Forum (MIEF). This is a social initiative aimed at promoting and strengthening international energy cooperation and establishing a qualitatively new discussion platform to exchange opinions on issues of global energy at a top level
The forum is supported by the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Federation Council, the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Forum will be attended by the representatives of the most influential international energy organizations, of the federal authorities, the leaders of the world's largest energy companies, representatives of the Russian Academy of Science, of NGOs and the expert community.

The Organizing Committee is headed by Konstantin Kosachev, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the State Duma of Russian Federation and Nikolay Ryzhkov, Chairman of the Federation Council for natural monopolies of Russia.

The main objective of the Forum is to develop coordinated approaches to form a new global strategy for reforming the institutional and legal system of regulating the world energy.

The Forum will be held on April 7-10 in Moscow at Manege. The Forum will open with a discussion on the new goals with the new world energy regulation system and the main reports of the Russian Government, the International Energy Agency and the EU Commission, as well as with the speeches of the world's leading experts on global energy markets and international energy cooperation are scheduled to be presented.

The 5-th Exhibition “Russian fuel and energy complex in the XXI century” will take place at Manege during the Forum. It will showcase the largest companies of Russian fuel and energy complex, the companies-manufacturers of energy equipment and Russian regions.

It is also planned to adopt a Declaration with an analysis and assessment of the prevalent situation in the world energy caused by the imperfections of the existing system regulating the energy market. The Declaration is to include the thesis on the ineffectiveness of the existing legal mechanisms to guarantee the interests of suppliers, transmitters and consumers of energy resources and protect the long-term investments in the energy infrastructure. It is proposed to include an appeal to the leaders of the world energy showing the initiative towards strategic trade-offs and creating conditions for a sustained and steady development of the world energy as well as recommendations for the adoption of a new Global Energy Code into the final document.
