The installation on August 24 of a 74.2 metre-long bridge linking two offshore ice-resistant fixed platforms in the Caspian sea has concluded the construction of LUKOIL´s Yuri Corchagin oilfield main production unit.
The main production unit of the oilfield - formed by an offshore drilling and oil and gas transport and preparation platform - was shipped on August 16.
The first offshore platform was installed at the oilfield on May 25, with residential and medical facilities, and a helicopter landing site. Commissioning of the oilfield is planned for December 2009.

Yuri Corchagin oilfield is located 180 km away from Astrakhan and 240 km away from Makhachkala. The Depth of sea at the oilfield is 11-13 m; estimated oil reserves (according o 3P) are 570 mln barrels o.e. Maximum yearly oil and gas condensate production is 2.3 mln t of oil and 1.2 bln cu. m. of gas.
