Gazprom Oil to double oil output in 4 years to up to 500,000 tons, Gazprom Neft

"Gazprom Oil", the third largest producer of machine oil in Russia, is going to increase its output by 1.9 times four years - from 260,000 tons to 500,000 tons per year, company CEO of Gazprom Oil - Lubricants Alexander Trukhan said in an interview with the corporate magazine. "Today we produce about 260,000 tons. The plan is to almost double capacity in 4 years, to 460,000 tons. If all goes according to the best scenario, we will hit 500,000 tons per year," he said .

In order to establish production of base oils with higher performance, Gazprom Oil plans to begin engineering at the Omsk plant to produce oils of the second category and expects to receive product by 2015. Also, in 2014, due to start a joint venture with TNK-BP, industrial production of third group oils should start in Yaroslavl.

Truhan also noted that "Gazprom Oil" is building a complex packaging as part of the Omsk project that will enable it to increase production in plastic containers by fourfold, and in barrels by 1.5 or 2. The company plans to purchase packaging power in Russia’s European part.

Speaking about the brand G-Energy, he noted that the growth of average monthly sales this year rose by nearly 40 per cent compared to last year's figures. In Russia there are about 4,000 selling points today. Truhan added that G-Energy also enjoyed good demand abroad, with Italy accounting for a quarter of sales for example.

According to "Gazprom Oil", the company currently ranks third in terms of oil production in Russia with 460,000 tons annually. LUKOIL remains the leader of the Russian oil market with 1.2 million tons per year, and Rosneft is second with about 600,000 tons.

The total production of lubricants in Russia amounts to about 2.8 million tons per year. Of these, the domestic market consumes about 60% and 40% is exported, RIA Novosti reported.
