InterRAO, General Electric and Russian Technologies to set up energy equipment manufacturing in Russia, InterRAO

MOSCOW – Dec 27, 2010 – InterRAO, General Electric and Russian Technologies have signed a frame agreement for localization of technologies, production and know-how for modernization of Russia's energy infrastructure. The partners agreed to set up a joint venture for production, assembly, sales and servicing of highly efficient gas units.

The signing ceremony took part in the presence of Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister of Russia. The three parties were represented, correspondingly, by D.Shugaev, deputy General Director of Russian Technologies, N.Beccalli, President and CEO of GE International, and B.Kovalchuk, Chairman of Inter RAO UES.

The trilateral agreement envisages setup of a joint venture for production, assembly, sales and servicing of highly efficient industrial gas units on behalf of GE, Inter RAO UES and Russian Technologies represented by United Aircraft Corporation. Besides, GE and Russian Technologies, represented by RT-Biotechprom, are to create a joint venture for production, assembly, sales and servicing of hi-tech medical equipment.

The signed agreement will promote the announced national priority activities for improvement of the investment climate, modernization of Russia's healthcare and energy infrastructure.
