Yuri Lipatov: Russian-German parliamentary dialogue exemplifies efficient energy cooperation, State Duma Committee for Energy

"Russia eyes Germany as its priority energy partner", said Yuri Lipatov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee for Energy and coordinator of the State Duma deputy group responsible for relations with the German Bundestag during a meeting with the German parliamentary delegation on October 12.The German parliamentary delegation was represented by Dr. Andreas Schockenhoff, Bernhard Kaster, Marieluise Beck and Jean Froehly. The Russian parliament was represented by Yuri Lipatov and members of the State Duma deputy group responsible for relations with the German Bundestag.
The main issues discussed at the meeting of the Russian and German delegation were cooperation in new technologies, forming technological alliances of the Russian and German companies in the sphere of power engineering, nuclear energy, energy saving, etc. The Russian and German groups have exchanged opinions on scientific and technical partnership, Russia's initiatives in forming a new safety system within the European Safety Treaty and other aspects of the international policy.
"The Russia - Europe energy dialogue is aimed at providing stable long-term relations, increasing mutual confidence and transparency in the sphere of energy. Today, sustainable economic development is one of the key conditions of stable growth of the global economy, and the dialogue betwen Russia and Germany exemplifies efficient cooperation of two energy partners", concluded Lipatov.
