Potential Russia-China gas supplies, Gazprom

Seventh meeting of the Joint Coordination Council of Gazprom and the Chinese National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) took place in Tomsk on September 29. The Russian delegation was headed by Alexander Ananenkov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Gazprom and Co-Chairman of the Joint Coordination Council.



The Russian and Chinese party considered potential cooperation in the framework of the Eastern Gas Program, including organization of natural gas supplies from Russia to China. Considerable potential of implementing petrochemical facilities in the East of Russia was marked by both parties.



As a result, a draft agreement for Russia-China natural gas supplies was prepared. The next meeting of the Joint Coordination Council is planned in China for 2010.
