Gazprom and South Korean STX discuss Far East and Arctic shelf projects, Focus Communication

Russian sate-run gas giant Gazprom and South Korean STX have held talks about cooperation of both firms in Gazprom's Far East and Arctic shelves projects.Gazprom's chief Alexey Miller and Duk-Soo Kang, Chairman of STX Business Group met at the Russian state giant Moscow's headquarters last 4th of September. They discussed the possibilities of interaction between the companies when implementing Gazprom’s large-scale projects in Russia’s Arctic and Far Eastern shelves.
In particular, the parties exchanged opinions with regard to cooperation between STX Business Group and Russian shipbuilding companies.Miller explained to Duk-Soo Kang the progress made so far in implementing the Eastern Gas Program. The Korean party expressed interest in expanding the interaction within the projects being carried out in Eastern Russia.
Gazprom has adopted and is implementing the Program for the Russian Federation offshore hydrocarbon resources exploitation up to 2030.
The Development Program for an integrated gas production, transportation and supply system in Eastern Siberia and the Far East, taking into account potential gas exports to China and other Asia-Pacific countries (Eastern Gas Program), was adopted by the Order of the Russian Federation Industry and Energy Ministry of September 3, 2007. Gazprom was appointed by the Russian Federation Government as the Eastern Gas Program execution coordinator.
