Putin launches construction of Sakhalin-Khabarovsk-Vladivostok gas pipeline , Government of Russia

Vladimir Putin, Chairman of the Government of Russia, during his working visit to the Far East federal region, launches the first pipe welding of Sakhalin-Khabarovsk-Vladivostok main gas pipeline“Construction of Sakhalin-Khabarovsk-Vladivostok main gas pipeline is only a part of the mass-scale Eastern gas program. I’m sure that even the experts who are present here today are not aware of all the details of this work. This program envisages massive geological exploration in Krasnoyarsk region, Irkutsk region, Sakhalin, Yakutia and Kamchatka; development and commissioning of dozens of fields and connecting them with roads and gas pipelines.
Of course, development of gas transport infrastructure in the East of Russia will allow us considerably diversify the export and enhance our position on the dynamic markets of Asia-Pacific. I would to specially note that domestic market is the priority for the gas of East Siberia and the Far East. It will be the resource base for large energy and gas processing complexes and development of modern hi-tech production”, said the Chairman of the Government at the ceremony of opening the construction.
