Potential energy cooperation of Russia and France, Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation

Sergey Shmatko, Minister of Energy of Russia, met with Jean de Gliniasti, French Ambassador in Russia, on July 24, 2009Issues discussed during the meeting concern energy efficiency and prospects of developing Russian-French cooperation in this sphere. The parties also regarded possibilities of energy cooperation between the Russian and French enterprises.
The Russian Minister noted that mass-scale projects in power generation and electric grids are going to be soon implemented in Russia. “We would like these transformations to be innovative. The potential for Russian-French cooperation is quite vast in this sphere”, - Shmatko said at the opening ceremony.
