Ministry of Energy discusses energy supply of ESPO pipeline, Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation

Vyacheslav Sinyugin, Deputy Minister of Energy of Russia, held a working meeting on energy supply for the East Siberia-Pacific Ocean (ESPO) oil pipeline. President of Sakha Republic (Yakutia) and representatives of the participating companies - Federal Grid Company, RAO UES of the East, Transneft and others - took part in the meeting on July 21, 2009.Energy supply of the first stage of ESPO (from Tayshet oil pumping station in Irkutsk region to Skovorodino on the border with China) envisages construction of 2 energy transmission lines of 220 kV. Planned time of commissioning is second half of 2010.
According to Vyacheslav Sinyugin, today it is extremely important to regard financing of construction for the next year and ensure the necessary measures to solve issues that might interfere in its implementation.
During the discussion, Vyacheslav Shtyrov, President of Sakha Republic, told about the prospects of ESPO pipeline system construction project and noted the importance of energy supply for the new facilities.
Summing up the meeting, Mr. Sinyugin noted that construction of ESPO energy facilities is supervised by the Ministry of Energy and ordered RAO UES of the East and the Federal Grid Company to develop a few options for energy supply for ESPO-2 and present them at the next meeting.
