Gazprom launches production drilling in Kamchatka, Gazprom

Drilling of the first production gas well was launched today in the Nizhne-Kvakchinskoye gas condensate field (GCF) located near the settlement of Sobolevo on the western coast of the Kamchatka Peninsula. The drilling operations are part of Phase 1 of Gas Supply to the Kamchatka Oblast – Gas Supply to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky project.
Representatives of Gazprom management and subsidiaries – Gazprom invest Vostok, Burgaz, Gazprom promgaz as well as regional authorities - took part in the ceremony.

It was pointed out that the current event was preceded by a large scope of logistics and engineering done by Gazprom and its subsidiaries.

Launch of the first well drilling in the Nizhne-Kvakchinskoye GCF was a crucial step to implementing the project ‘Gas Supply to the Kamchatka Krai’ that will significantly influence the socio-economic development of both this region and the entire Russia’s Far East for the coming decades.

The launch of drilling vividly demonstrates Gazprom’s timely execution of all decisions of the Russian Government.
