Ministry of Energy of Russia drafts the complex development project for oil and gas fields of Yamal-Nenetsk Autonomous Region and of north Krasnodar region, Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation

Release Date: 2009-06-02

Sergey Kudryashov, deputy Minister of Energy of Russia, ran an expanded meeting to regard the main statements of the project for complex development of oil and gas fields of Yamal-Nenetsk Autonomous Region (YaNAO) and of north Krasnodar region.
It was noted that the local resources account for 20% of the entire oil potential and over 50% of natural gas and condensate resources of Russia. Decrease of liquid carbohydrates production in YaNAO during the last years is due to considerable exhaust of the reserves of currently developed fields, whereas a lot of reserves located in the northern territories are not developed due to lack of oil and gas transport infrastructure. Autonomous development of the infrastructure for each single company is inefficient in terms of oil and gas field development. In this respect, Ministry of Energy, together with oil companies, is developing a complex solution to commission new fields of YaNAO and of the north of Krasnoyarsk region.

Implementation of this program will provide tax proceeds of all levels from liquid carbohydrates production of about 3.5 trillion rubles in 2009-2020 and multiply development opportunities for the national engineering, metallurgy and construction sectors both in the participating regions and in Russia as a whole.
