Atomstroyexport is taking part in ATOMEXPO 2009

Atomstroyexport is taking part in ATOMEXPO 2009 international forum, which is taking place in Moscow May 26–28 2009.

The organizer of the forum is Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation.

A specialized exhibition and congress “Nuclear Power: Development Through Cooperation” is taking place in the framework of the forum, which has offered the participant state agencies and manufacturing companies an opportunity to discuss the prospects of nuclear energy development and international cooperation in the face of the global financial crisis.

The forum was opened by Director General of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation Sergey Kiriyenko, who said that Rosatom was ready to consider different scenarios of cooperation with foreign partners and to invest own funds in some of the projects. “One of the possibilities is Turkey. Shortly, we are expecting to receive a response to our tender offer to build a nuclear power plant in that country: there we are ready not only to build but also to invest.”

The Baltic NPP project may become one more example of joint investment. 50% + 1 shares will belong to Rosatom, the rest — to foreign partners. Kiriyenko confirmed that the general contractor of the project would be Atomstroyexport.

Atomstroyexport has sent the biggest delegation to the forum. The representatives of the company will make 7 reports on Russian-Chinese and Russian-Indian partnership, international cooperation under the Belene NPP project in Bulgaria, Atomstroyexport’s entry into new markets and use of new solutions in the framework of the cooperation with foreign partners.

Atomstroyexport CJSC is the leading Russian organization implementing contracts for the construction of nuclear power plants abroad. After the launch of two units of Tianwan NPP in China, ASE continues the construction of Kudankulam NPP in India, Busherh NPP in Iran and Belene NPP in Bulgaria.
