RFNC-VNIIEF has held a corporate conference on the safety of nuclear weapon and occupational health and safety at nuclear weapons companies - RFNC-VNIIEF

A corporate conference on the safety of nuclear weapon and occupational health and safety at nuclear weapons companies was opened at the House of Scientists of the Russian Federal Nuclear Center-All-Russian Research Institute of Experimental Physics (RFNC-VNIIEF) on May 19 2009.

The conference was opened by Chief Engineer of RFNC-VNIIEF A.Kovtun, who said that the event was dedicated to the 60th birthday of the occupational health and safety service of VNIIEF and the 60th anniversary of the testing of the first nuclear weapon RDS-1.

Deputy Director of the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Department of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation A.Sokolov said: “Our occupational health and safety service has a long history. “The Regulations on the Organization of the Safety System of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation” confers on VNIIEF the biggest responsibility among 18 organizations acting as safety authorities.”

Kovtun made a report on the history of the occupational health and safety service of RFNC-VNIIEF.

A group of employees of the institute were granted certificates and decorations.

* Legislative and regulatory basis of occupational health and safety system
* Practical aspects of occupational health and safety
* Safety of nuclear weapons and nuclear materials.
