Release Date: 2009-05-20
A conference “Management of the Life Cycle of a Nuclear Power Plant at the Stage of Its Construction: 6D Project” took place in the framework of the 2nd Fair of Nuclear Power Plant Construction in Nizhniy Novgorod May 19 2009.
The objective of the conference was to unify NPP engineering and construction technologies for all companies of the nuclear industry: designer, constructors, consumers and contractors.
The key event of the forum was the presentation of 6D Project – an NPP engineering and construction process control system based on an information model comprising detailed project data
6D Project is based on the well-known 3D model of development of design documentation plus three more components:
Time – in the form of scheduling
Equipment – as information on configuration, procurement and delivery of necessary materials and aggregates
Resources – labor, technical, financial and other.
While opening the conference, Director of Nizhniy Novgorod Atomenergoproekt Valery Limarenko said: “By forming a unified corporate information system we will create “a common language” for our nuclear companies. The use of unified databases and guides will substantially enhance the quality and will reduce the duration of our NPP construction projects. 6D is a real way to enhance the competitiveness of our engineering companies.”
The international scientific-industrial forum “Fair of Nuclear Power Plant Construction” was first held in 2008. Over 80 companies and organizations from four foreign countries (Germany, France, the Czech Republic and Ukraine) and 22 regions of the Russian Federation took part in the event. The program of the forum included open tenders and public auctions for the supply of equipment for the 2nd unit of Rostov NPP, the 4th unit of Kalinin NPP and units of Novovoronezh NPP (the total amount of lots exceeding 15bln RUR) as well as selection of suppliers and sub-contractors for the construction of the 3rd and 4th unit of Rostov NPP.
Nizhniy Novgorod Atomenergoproekt is part of Atomenergoprom OJSC, a state-owned integrated holding consolidating the civil assets of Russia’s nuclear industry and offering a full package of services in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy: from uranium mining to NPP construction and power generation.
