TransContainer

TransContainer is a subsidiary of RZD (Russian Railways), registered on March 4, 2006 on the basis of a branch of RZD – ‘TransContainer’ Centre for Container Transportation of Freight. It commenced operations on July 1, 2006.

Today, TransContainer is Russia’s largest container operator, employing over 5,000 people, with 47 terminals in all of Russia’s major freight centres, with 17 branches encompassing the entire network of Russian Railways. In addition, TransContainer owns the largest fleet of rolling stock in Russia, the CIS and the Baltic States, with over 23,000 fitting platforms and over 53,000 large-tonnage containers.

TransContainer continues to optimize logistics involved in Russian container transportation, actively participates in the implementation of Russia’s Transport Strategy and fulfills state orders for social freight transportation.
