Arkhangelsk Sea Commercial Port JSC

Arkhangelsk Sea Commercial Port is a multi-profile commercial port for transfer of general cargo, pulp, cardboard, lumber, metal, containers, heavy equipment, fertilizers and bulk cargo. The Port has a large modern container terminal.

Navigation is year-round, with ice conditions roughly corresponding to those of the Gulf of Finland, a powerful port infrastructure capable of handling up to 4.5 million t of cargo per year. Murmansk was the starting point of the Northern Sea Route - the shortest cargo route from Europe to South-East Asia. The Port is the primary base for opening up the oil and natural gas deposits of the Arctic Shelf and of Barents and Kara Seas.

Main characteristics: total port area - 97.5 hectares, total covered storage area – 57,055 sq. m, total warehouse area – 2,000 sq. m. The port is serviced by three stations of the Northern Railroad. Total cargo turnover in 2007 was 1,478 t.
