Vanino Commercial Sea Port
Vanino Commercial Sea Port is the successor of the Vanino Sea Port founded in 1943. It is the largest stevedore company in Khabarovsk region offering loading, transport and expedition services. The main owner is the state (55%).Vanino Port is a transport hub connecting railway, sea and motor ways. It is the gateway of shipping cargo to northeastern regions of Russia, Japan, South Korea, China, Australia and the USA. Advantageous geographic location of the Port opens a direct access to cargo shipped from the West along the Baikal-Amur and Transsiberian Railway.
The stevedore company includes, apart from universal docks, specialized ferry, container and aluminous terminals and special fleet for docking, passenger transportation and water supply. Total cargo turnover reached 6.43 mln t in 2006. The main types of cargo are wood, saw timber, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, ore, coal and containers.
