Rostekhnadzor, the Federal Service for Ecological, Technological and Atomic Supervision, is a federal executive body whose mission is to exercise control in the sphere of safe work practices in exploitation of reserves, industrial safety, safe use of nuclear energy (excluding development, construction, testing, exploitation and utilization of nuclear weapons and nuclear installations with military applications), safety of electric and heat facilities, safety of hydrotechnical facilities, safety of production, storage and implementation of exploding material with industrial applications, as well as state safety in the spheres mentioned above and in the sphere of environmental protection regarding limitation of technogenic impact on the environment; to organize and conduct state ecological expertise on the federal level.
